Laboratory for Genomics Research (LGR)

The Laboratory for Genomics Research (LGR) is a leading center for functional genomics, combining high-throughput automated platforms, CRISPR-based screening, advanced cellular models, and genomic technologies to address complex biological questions. The LGR is focused on building new partnerships. Hosted by the UCSF Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the UCSF Mission Bay campus, the LGR partners with academic and industry teams to leverage complementary expertise and technologies across diverse areas of biology and disease research.

Chugai Pharmaceutical

Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a research-based Japanese pharmaceutical company with world-class drug discovery capabilities, including proprietary antibody engineering technologies, has entered into a multi-year agreement with UCSF, establishing a framework to facilitate research collaborations in areas including the exploration of disease biology, the identification of novel drug targets, and the development of new therapeutic approaches. An initial research project is already underway with a UCSF principal investigator.

Alliance for Therapies in Neuroscience (ATN)

UC San Francisco, UC Berkeley, and the University of Washington have established a long-term 10-year research partnership with Genentech, a member of the Roche Group, and its parent company, Roche Holding AG, to speed the development of new therapeutics for debilitating brain diseases and disorders of the central nervous system (CNS), such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, and ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
